Here's a fabulous story to illustrate the universal law of attraction - "what you think and focus on, you get." When you truly understand this, you'll know for certain that all things are possible (but yes, some are more probable than others.)
My friend Pearl was at Burning Man, the amazing week-long cultural event held in the Nevada desert every year. She was alone, riding her bicycle out on the hot, dry playa and saw a wooden structure that someone had built for the occasion. She climbed up to top of the structure and sat to meditate. She was really thirsty, and said to herself,"Gosh, I'd really like some coconut water." Not just water, mind you - she wanted coconut water! (In astrology we call that having the Moon in Leo! But I digress.)
A short while later she heard someone climbing up to the platform where she sat. A man appeared, holding a coconut and a hammer. He said to her, "Hi! Would you like some coconut water? I have this coconut, but I don't care for the water, I only like the meat."
This simple story says it all. The secret to getting what you want is 1. Ask for what you want, 2. Don't try to figure out how it will happen, and 3. Decide to be happy, whether you get it or not. The best part of this is, the happier you are, the more wonderful and seemingly impossible things you'll attract.
Speaking of which, if you’d like to learn some practical tools for getting happy, regardless of the circumstances, please join me for my next series of classes. The subject for this series is, More Happiness: Find It, Keep It, Share It.

Scientists who study happiness have discovered that: (1) happiness is a choice, (2) happiness is contagious, and
(3) happiness fuels success, not the other way around.
Join us for this ongoing series of classes to learn how to use the power of your mind to choose happier thoughts and lessen the effect of negative thoughts. You’ll see the world around you change to reflect your happier attitude and discover yourself becoming a powerful positive influence in the lives of the people around you.
Each week we’ll practice simple tools and techniques for turning negative thoughts into positive ones and creating positive changes in your life, your work, and your relationships. You'll not only find yourself contributing your own personal "good news" stories, but you’ll leave each class feeling better than when you came in.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~My current favorite quote:
The most significant thing for a parent to contribute to anyone is their own Connection and their own stability.
An effective parent is a happy parent.
An effective parent is a parent who laughs easily and often;
and who doesn't take things so seriously.
